Eric S. Anderson

Emmy Award Winning Director/Editor

Eric S. Anderson is a two-time Emmy winning director and editor for the title sequences of Dexter and Six Feet Under. He joined Digital Kitchen in its infancy. His work and leadership over the years helped DK become the internationally recognized company it is today. In 2009 Eric was elected to the Executive Committee for the Emmy awards at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. He has been a guest speaker for the Academy as well as numerous design conferences throughout North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. New York magazine recently profiled Eric’s work for Dexter placing him alongside Betty White and Tracy Morgan as a “Televisionary” for 2010… a term his mother is equally proud of and confused by. He is a graduate of the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in film and interdisciplinary studies.

Session:

"Bleeding for Art: How I slit my throat on camera and no one cared"

We largely work in an industry where we ask for money for something that we haven't created yet. And many times we are asked to create something that has never been seen before.  Working well with your fellow designer is only a part of the job, collaborating and working successfully with your client is another skill set all together.

Using the case study on the Emmy and BDA award wining opening title sequence for the American TV show Dexter, Eric S Anderson will walk you through every step of the internal creative process as well as the external creative process with the executive producers and network executives. From getting the job awarded to nearly getting fired off it, to winning the Emmy on one of the most talked about title sequences in recent history.
